Battle Scars
Artist Statement
The title of this series is Battle Scars. I use soft colors to draws the viewer in for a closer look. The images evoke feelings of nostalgia before revealing the message of bitter-sweet memories and the vulnerability of being a child.
Appearance can be deceiving. The tattoos on the children represent wounds, battle scars acquired through life experiences that began during childhood. A constant reminder of painful memories.
